Wondering what the ART Venture programme is like and whether it could be for you? A special ‘taster’ event on Monday 25 August (5:30 – 8pm) at Q Theatre offers the chance for anyone who is interested in applying to the 2015 ART Venture Programme to meet the team, ask plenty of questions (and get answers) as well as get a heads up on what the selection panel will be looking for in the EOIs. You’ll also hear from key speakers, including presentations from alumni and mentors who will share their experiences of the programme.
ART Venture – heading into its sixth year – is a year-long programme aimed at start-up and experienced creative entrepreneurs in the Auckland area. The programme is firmly established in Auckland’s creative arts ecology, bringing together arts practitioners who share a common desire to accelerate their business or project, whichever creative fields they practice in.
ART Venture Programme alumni, Ross Liew of Cut Collective, an artist and curator with an interest in artistic collaboration and a creative career spanning more than fifteen years; and Margaret-Mary Hollins, Director of Auckland community based performing arts venue, TAPAC will each give presentations about their personal journeys through ART Venture and beyond.
“The ART Venture selection process is a special time for the programme because we’ve an opportunity to add value to everyone who comes in contact with the programme during this period”, says Programme Director, Elisabeth Vaneveld. “So A Taste of ART Venture is a short, sharp opportunity to not only decide whether the programme is for you, but also for you to extend your networks, share some of what you’re looking for, learn some new things and get something from ART Venture, even at this early stage of engagement.”
Also speaking will be Peter Roband, – Partner and Creative Director of PHD3 and is a specialist in Design Led Thinking, which ART Venture participants are encouraged to explore while on the programme. With a wealth of experience internationally and in New Zealand, Peter is one of a number of specialists who provide their skills and know-how to ART Venture participants. His area of specialty is assisting organisations to design compelling experiences that connect with audiences, clients and consumers. Experience a taste of having your thinking challenged!
