Described as a: "unique,non-compromising, contradictory, brilliant, complex person". Self described: "The only thing that can stop him (to achieve greatness) is himself..." in the NZIFF 2011 documentary "The Temptation of Rossano Fan". Designed (among others) the late great All Black Ken Gray's and artist Sir Toss Woollaston's houses. In 1990 Rossano retired from architecture and took up painting full time.
Rossano's time as an artist has come.
