This year for the MMCA 2024, we have merged the Painting & Drawing award with the Three-Dimensional award making way for a more inclusive, diverse and dynamic competition. From contemporary painting to stunning sculptures, multimedia installations to intricate textile works, we invite artists working in all mediums to participate.

The Molly Morpeth Canaday Art Award has a long-standing tradition of supporting emerging and established artists alike, and we are proud to continue that legacy with this exciting evolution. The award not only offers substantial prize money but selected finalist's work will be exhibited in Te Kõputu a te whanga a Toi, Whakatāne Museum and Gallery and viewed by art enthusiasts from around the country.
