This exhibition is a selection of works from the 1999 Matakite (Visionary series), 2000 Kura (Red), 2002 Pouri (Black series), 2007 Karere (Messenger series), 2008 Nga Kaiako o Te Po (Teachers of the Night series), 2009 Patiki (Diamond series), 2013 Hinaki (Fish trap series) & a new sculptural work Tane Te Wananga a Rangi (Tane the bringer of Knowledge from the Heaven). These artworks are a tribute to the Waitaha Kai Purakau (Storytellers & Wisdom Keepers), a homage to the Tüäpapa / Foundation of this sacred land, honouring the tree and its many branches that have grown from those foundations.
