ATC Education Hosts German Theatre Director

ATC Education, the youth arts arm of Auckland Theatre Company, is delighted to be hosting German theatre director and teacher, Ute Plate when she visits Auckland in March.

ATC Education, the youth arts arm of Auckland Theatre Company, is delighted to be hosting German theatre director and teacher, Ute Plate when she visits Auckland in March.

Ms Plate, A specialist in improvisation, movement and writing for theatre, will take a workshop for senior students from Auckland Theatre Company’s High School In Residence, Rutherford College when she is in Auckland.

She will also attend auditions for The Next Big Thing, ATC Education’s festival for theatre for young people and view a rehearsal at the Mangere Arts Centre of ATC Participate’s community show, The Lolly Witch of Mumuland.

“This is a great opportunity for ATC Education to connect with an international practitioner in the field of youth arts. Ute will experience first hand how ATC Education engages with schools and young people as well as taking in Auckland's vibrant theatre scene,” says Auckland Theatre Company Associate Director, Lynne Cardy.

Ms Plate is New Zealand to teach at Toi Whakaari The New Zealand Drama School. Her trip to New Zealand is very generously supported by the Goethe-Institut.
