The BizDojo regularly invites artists from its community to come into its Auckland space and let rip on one of its doors.

So let's meet the makers behind each door.

Black Door Series: Nick Von K | Jeweller
My work is characterised by themes of life and death featuring animals and their corresponding skeletons finished with fine detailing. I incorporate individually hand carved pieces from organic materials such as buffalo horn, deer antler and mammoth ivory with the silver work to create jewellery that is a little more involved than typical cast metal jewellery.
Black Door Series: Lucky Anastasov | Illustrator

My history has been in flash animation ranging from banners, games, tv animation , but when work slowed down I decided to give illustration and comic book making a shot and I've been having loads of fun! I'm still available as an animator but in my spare time I've tried to take my own ideas off the ground!

At the moment I have a Kickstarter project going to help me publish my comics into books. The project reached funding in under 4 days so now I can work on my comics full time, which is a dream come true!

I've just started working on an ink and watercolour series I'm calling 'Lies and Hearsay' (possibly) filled with things that aren't, but really should be.
Black Door Series: Bhavesh Bhuthadia | Product Designer & Rogue Creative
I'm a big believer in design thinking, and truly feel that this (in collaboration with other disciplines) can create positive change. And cool products can make life more fun!
Black Door Series: Ellie Jones | Concrete Poet and Illustrator
My work focusses on the point at which images become readable, or words become decorative. This encompasses elements of design, illustration, concrete poetry, and installation art.

Black Door Series: Ed Butler | Illustrator and Comic Artist
Czepta Gold (aka Ed Butler) is a comic creator with a background in the film and television industry.  
 

Black Door Series: Mariano aka Tuti | Animator & Illustrator
Mariano is visiting New Zealand from Buenos Aires to pursue his career as an animator.
