By forming partnerships with co-working spaces across the globe, BizDojo has opened up access to pre-existing networks of creatives for kiwi creatives and businesses.

Partnership agreements have been made in six cities so far, including: Buenos Aires, Rome, Stockholm, Honolulu, Panama City, and most recently, Tokyo.

These connections are invaluable to freelancers and entrepreneurs wanting to travel for work, or export their products and skills overseas while remaining in New Zealand.

Last week, three members of the BizDojo team travelled to Tokyo to meet the founders of newly opened co-working and creative space “Midori.so”. Nick Shewring (BizDojo Co-founder) and Elise Sterback (Brand and Culture Manager) visited co-founder of Midori.so, Miho Koshiba, and were given a tour of the three-storey space.

The space has welcomed twenty new residents to its community since it opened in April 2012. Ms Koshiba is also in the process of setting up of the first and only independent think-tank in Japan, the Mirai Institute.

Midori.so has not yet found a coffee supplier and Ms Koshiba expressed a strong interest in importing from a kiwi coffee roaster. The BizDojo have now begun working closely with Three Beans Coffee to explore exporting their product to Japan.
