Founded in 2013, CHROMACON Indie Arts Festival is returning to Auckland’s Aotea Centre for it’s fourth inception, running across two days over Queens Birthday Weekend, 1-2 June 2019.

Chromacon is a multimedia arts event that celebrates the coming together of creativity, artistic excellence and community. For 2019, Chromacon will continue our tradition of presenting a curated line-up of local talent and international guests, connecting New Zealanders with the best independent creators of illustration, comics, sculpture, animation, videogames and much more.

Once again, Auckland Live joins Chromacon as our Venue Partner, hosting the festival over multiple floors of the Aotea Centre featuring exhibitors, artist talks & panels, screenings, live art and activities for art-lovers of all ages.

At Chromacon, you’ll be able to experience fresh creative work from a broad range of media, styles, and genres - and interact directly with the creators face-to-face. You will also be able to purchase self-published work such as prints, art books, comics, designer toys and even limited-edition merchandise/ originals.

Applications to exhibit at Chromacon 2019 are now being accepted for local and, for the first time, international artists. Chromacon is all about celebrating inclusivity, creativity, and making arts, storytelling and technology accessible to all.

For creatives passionate about art, storytelling, and pushing creative boundaries, please visit our new Chroma Hub site to apply and join in on the fun!
