This year's Dunedin Film Society highlights include three classic road movies (John O' Shea's Runaway, Monte Hellman's Two-Lane Blacktop and Terence Malick's Badlands), a Surrealism and Film series that encompasses everything from Jean Cocteau's Blood of a Poet to David Lynch's Eraserhead, three of the most witty and sophisticated screwball comedies Hollywood ever made (Design for Living, The Awful Truth, Trouble in Paradise), three of French filmmaker Clair Denis's most internationally acclaimed masterpieces (35 Shots of Rum, Beau Travail, White Material), a fascinating trilogy in which three of German's most celebrated filmmaker's approach the story of an escaped convict from a different point of view (Beats Being Dead, Don't Follow Me Around, One Minute of Darkness), three Chinese films in which the main protagonists must adapt to a rapidly changing society (Mr. Tree, The Piano in the Factory, Walking on the Wild Side) as well many other classic and contemporary films from France, Germany, England, India, and around the world.

Please help to ensure the continuing survival of this 65 year old volunteer run Dunedin institution by joining us and by passing this message on to all of your friends. Our first screening will take place in the University of Otago's Red Lecture Theatre (located near the side entrance of the Scott Building across the road from the Emergency entrance of the Dunedin Public Hospital) at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 27th. We hope to see you there!
