Daniel Malone is a conceptually driven, context sensitive artist who explores the interconnected complexities of identity and place. Malone selects material from the full range of media available including found ephemera and objects, drawing and painting, sound and performance, to create works with interosculating layers of meaning that provoke existential questions and challenge the parameters of art.
Malone is based in Warsaw, Poland. He a was born in Greymouth and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland.
The McCahon House Trust is very pleased to have facilitated his return to Auckland from Poland to take up his first New Zealand residency.
