He Waka Eke Noa open new performance space at Kete Aronui

03 Sep 2021
"The Factory" - a new black box space opening in Onehunga at Kete Aronui October 1st.

We are very excited to announce that as of 1st September 2021 Kete Aronui is taking over the middle level of our building in Onehunga.

This is going to become a new PERFORMANCE SPACE  and GALLERY

Based on the existing kaupapa of Kete Aronui, The Factory will be available to hire for shows, recitals, performances, demonstrations, workshops - anything you would do in any creative space in Tāmaki. And we aim to make it financially accessible as well, just like our rooms.

Currently we are in the throes of renovating and setting up the spaces with lighting and sound, a cafe space, and a gallery.

A call out to visual artists! We will be rotating exhibitions in the space to support the visual arts community so soon we will be looking for expressions of interest.

Want to run your own cafe in a creative space?  - reach out to us with the email below.

Are you working on a show but don’t have a venue, thinking of doing something in Fringe or comedy festival?

The Factory  is the new black box available soon and if you think you’d be interested in having a chat with us about a project you are planning, get in touch and we’ll see how we can help.

We look forward to working with you with these exciting developments to help realise your creative projects.

For more info or to set up a chat, email below and Connie will arrange a time (post Lockdown of course!).
