HotHouse: Flaming Good Ideas

HotHouse is a fiery showcase of New Zealand’s hottest entrepreneurial ideas at TheNewDowse from July 2. This design-led exhibition celebrates the creative sparks that ignite new ideas and technologies. The innovative exhibition design has been created by award-winning designers Tim Wigmore and James Moir, and includes TheNewDowse’s first mp3 audio tour.

“HotHouse represents an inspired approach to develop, in young and old, a heightened appreciation of our immense creative capabilities and the extraordinary contribution we can all make. Fresh thinking is imperative for a new New Zealand and a better world,” says Mark Pennington, HotHouse Patron and Foundation Sponsor (Design Director, Formway).

With a magazine-style format, HotHouse presents an eclectic mix of stories and objects inspired/made by New Zealand. Refueled every four months, HotHouse reveals the engine-rooms of invention. We uncover the institutions, award programmes and garage sheds where new products and processes take shape, across science and technology, fashion and sport, lifestyle, sustainability and travel. From flax surfboards to biotech fabrics, aether oscillators and grass roofing, discover why Kiwis are considered some of the most resourceful people in the world.
