Enjoy Public Art Gallery would like to welcome Simon Gennard as our new Communications and Publications Manager, to start work at Enjoy in early September.
Simon is a writer and curator based in Te Whanganui-a-tara. Prior to his appointment Simon was the 2017-2018 Blumhardt Foundation/Creative New Zealand Curatorial Intern at The Dowse Art Museum and worked as Curatorial Assistant at the Adam Art Gallery Te Pātaka Toi. He is currently a facilitator of artist-run initiative MEANWHILE. Simon holds an MA from Victoria University of Wellington and his writing has appeared in Overland, The Pantograph Punch and Turbine. He is a current participant in the Extended Conversations emerging writers programme co-convened by Enjoy with Blue Oyster Art Project Space. Nau mai Simon!
We acknowledge current Communications and Publications Manager Louise Rutledge as she leaves her position at Enjoy and congratulates her on her considerable achievements in the position.
Louise has played a significant role in Wellington’s art community and Enjoy’s development over the past three and a half years. She has made major contributions to several important projects for our organisation, including the redevelopment of Enjoy’s website in 2016 and the publication of the Enjoy Third Five-Year Enjoy Retrospective catalogue. Louise has also made valued contributions through creative projects such as developing the most recent edition of Enjoy’s Occasional Journal To Find a Place and co-curating Enjoy’s current exhibition Purpose-built.
