Lake House Arts welcomes new Public Programmes and Volunteer Coordinator, Janie van Woerden

Lake House Arts newly created role of Public Programmes and Volunteer Coordinator has been filled by up and coming curator and events manager Janie van Woerden. Janie will be curating Lake House Arts exhibition and events programmes as well as supervising our large volunteer base.

Janie arrived in New Zealand in 2007, completing a correspondence degree in Art History and Religious Studies from the University of South Africa before taking time off to become immersed in domestic bliss and motherhood. The need to find new roots and new beginnings in New Zealand soon inspired her to further education. Janie recently completed a Masters in Art History from the University of Auckland, and has grown her confidence and career while working at Blikfang in Northcote Point. Finding a place in New Zealand came through identification with the arts and culture of Auckland, building networks and supporting creative growth through personal relationships.  Art is a way of life, a religion, and a home.
