While well-known New Zealand artist and official NZ Defence Forces artist Matt Gauldie is in the Coromandel area as guest speaker of the Mercury Bay Art Escape Open Studio Tour he will hold a half day workshop in Whitianga to share his knowledge and skills.
The workshop titled 'the figure in art… portraiture and the ace up your sleeve’ will cover the planning and composition of figurative work in 2D and 3D and the role of Portraiture in Art, include some practical painting demonstrations and look at technical and practical implications of working in this field.
The workshop will be held on Monday 7 March, 9am - 1pm at the Whitianga Art Group Rooms, 20 School Road, Whitianga and is only $25. Spaces are limited and you can register on line at http://www.mercurybayartescape.com/matt-gauldie-workshop
