The 5-day Field Project:

Facilitated by Charles Koroneho, specific training, performance preparation and creative processes for the new Te Toki Haruru project Tua o Te Arai.

Open for dancers, actors, performance artists and movement practitioners to attend.


Creative Research: 3 hrs        

Exploration for conceptual development and choreographic processes.

Hiatus and Repose-movement, spatial, design exploration / Artifact Making-remembrance, talisman, keepsake / Tikiwananga-binding, weaving and lashing / Ataamira-aesthetic preparation and presentation of the dead / Rakau Atua-transit staff (space), earth post (negotiate), sky pillar (conduit)

Hybrid Training: 3 hrs

MB Rakau-A hybrid form merging aspects of MB and Mau Rakau (Maori Weaponry Training) / MB-Mind/Body, Muscle/Bone, a vigorous, rhythmical, dynamic movement system / Applied Martial Arts-mobility exercises that encourage contact, sensory exchange and speed training
