The Nelson Fringe Festival is a place to see new, quirky and entertaining theatre. It is also a platform for local, national and international artists to showcase their work and talents.
The Fringe Festival team haven’t stopped working since this year’s festival and are very excited about submissions for 2018. Submissions are open via the Nelson Fringe Festival’s website for artists wanting to showcase their latest show or those looking at providing a workshop in the 2018 Festival. This year, the festival featured an array of performances including; comedians, magicians, storytellers, talking cats, aliens, psychologically agonised super-heroes and many other weird and wonderful creations.
If you have a show to submit, The Nelson Arts Festival Trust (NFACT) recommends submitting your show(s) as soon as possible as spaces are limited. The festival will run from April 28 - May 6, 2018 at The Refinery Art Space and this year will include Ghostlight Theatre as the venue for workshops.
Laura Irish, Artistic Director of The Nelson Fringe Festival comments, “Nelson Fringe is truly a special festival experience as an artist and an audience goer. Nelsonians provide such a welcoming environment for artists to showcase new ground-breaking work and I'm so proud of the brave creativity that we have the opportunity to facilitate.”
Stu Dalton, Marketing Manager of The Nelson Fringe Festival comments, “This year the 2017 Nelson Fringe Festival was an enormous success with 37 original shows, some of which sold out very quickly. If you want to secure your place in 2018, do it now.”
