NZ Fringe & Melbourne Fringe Tour Ready Award winner announced for 2017

The NZ Fringe team just spent the weekend in Melbourne thanks to Wellington International Airport and Jetstar who now fly to Melbourne from Wellington! Apart from an epic weekend checking out how the Melbourne Fringe Festival do things and experiencing extraordinary fringe arts, the team were able to select a winner for the annual Tour Ready Award presented by both festivals to one show from each festival, a kind of cultural exchange and artist development opportunity supported by Creative New Zealand.

NZ Fringe director Hannah Clarke was thrilled to present the winner of the tour ready award in person on Saturday night to The Internet is Where Innocence Goes to Die and You Can Come Too by Zin Partnership, an interactive digital piece of live art you will definitely want your phone fully charged for. The work will be presented at BATS Theatre in February 2017 as part of the NZ Fringe Festival in Wellington.

If you'd like to be part of the 2017 NZ Fringe there's still time to register! You don't need to apply, you just need to be ready with your information. Head to www.fringe.co.nz/artists for all the info you need to get involved.

Thanks again to our supporters for making it possible: Wellington International Airport, Jetstar and Creative New Zealand. Where would we be without you? Right here wishing we were over there probably...

If YOU would like to show, perform,or create work in Wellington's Fringe Festival registrations close 5pm, Monday 10 October. to register or get more information go to www.fringe.co.nz
