Artists have until 20 March to get their entries in for The Coca-Cola Easter Show Art Awards 2014. Open to artists of all ages, amateur and professional, The Coca-Cola Easter Show Art Awards is New Zealand’s largest open art competition.
With a total prize pool of over $40,000 and a wide range of categories open to artists of all levels of experience and expertise, the competition attracts around 2,000 entries.
There are painting and photography sections, along with printmaking, ceramics and pottery, glass, wearable glass and woodcraft. Also included are sections for youth aged 10-18 years in the painting and ceramic sections.
This year’s competition theme is ‘Anything Goes’ which has been chosen to give artists the opportunity to display what they want. All work must confirm to size, weight and must be two dimensional. Other than that, artists are encouraged to turn their imaginations loose!
All entries will be on display for the duration of The Coca-Cola Easter Show which runs from 17th April – 21st April 2014 at the ASB Showgrounds, with most pieces also up for sale at reasonable prices.
With a massive line-up of entertainment, circus acts, rides and exhibits, plus an Agricultural & Pastoral Show that has been running for more than 160 years, the Coca-Cola Easter Show has a special place in the hearts and minds of New Zealanders.
And this year is no exception, with FREE ENTRY to the public, the return of the BIG RIDES from Mahon’s Amusements, four huge halls of prize winning livestock and five full days of cultural entertainment that spans the globe.
