Porirua City Council, in partnership with Porirua Chamber of Commerce and Placemaking Porirua, is calling for proposals from experienced mural artists to design a mural as part of the City Centre Revitalisation Project.  The mural will celebrate Porirua as a young, diverse and growing city and help to enliven a pedestrian lane in the city centre.  The mural will be launched in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Porirua City.  It should trace the history of the Porirua area through the years and celebrate the diversity of cultures and people that define our city.

The mural surface is 24 metres long and 3 metres high and is located between 9 and 10 Cobham Court in the City Centre. Our goal is that the mural will improve the pedestrian experience in the lane and that it will become a place of interest for tourists and residents alike.  Artists are welcome to use paint or other appropriate medium (tile, spray paint etc.).

Please consult the attached Call for Proposals for more information, or view it at:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-1f6IsKGoijaTzTwk6a8IJytQ-qwbXsbvMln...

Artists should submit their proposals by: August 21, 2015.
