Feeling you belong plays a big part in your employment. Most people get a feeling of security when they are able to interact in a positive manner with their colleagues.

When you employ someone for your business, you do so for the skills that they can bring to the company. It is however very important to remember, that if you just slot them into the role you hired them for, and go on to accept that you have just added another cog to your industrial machine, you will be making one of the most common errors made by employers today. The answer here, is to keep a close eye on how they fit in, and what other talents or knowledge they are exhibiting. It is important to remember, that every person you employ has the potential to improve your business in a positive way, and it is up to you to be aware of this when you take them on board.

Sadly, a lot of employers miss this point, and the result is, that the employee that should have been given more responsibility, feels that their talents are not appreciated, and they move on. A good employer builds and maintains a positive environment for their employees to work in. Doing that, you have an environment, that brings out the very best in your staff, and this can only be positive for your business.

The best employers have got the perfect mix of employer, and employee. This is gained by putting yourself up there as their leader, teaching, and training them, but also taking an interest in what they think is important to move the company forward, and listening to how they think that can be achieved. This builds a great relationship with your employees, and the benefits to both of you are enormous.

Another very important part of recruitment, something that any of the many recruitment agencies in Auckland will tell you,  is choosing people that you think will compliment the team you have already. As mentioned earlier, people that get on with their other colleagues are a lot happier, and perform to the best of their abilities, than those that cannot forge relationships in the workplace. Being aware of this, and acting on it when you are interviewing potential employees will be of great benefit to you and the company. The other thing to remember here also, is that a good staff member that gets on well with everyone, will probably also have a good network to your company and what could be more advantageous.
