Rubble, a new creative enterprise by Christchurch Toi Whakaari design graduate Josh Foley, will be launched on 4th July, followed by a public exhibition on the weekend of 5th and 6th July 2014.
Rubble is a collaboration of six Christchurch emerging and newly established artists to create bold and striking new works on paper.Produced in limited editions of 25, silkscreen on A2 fine art paper, these artist editions will go on sale online and at the two-day exhibition at G&A Creative Agency, Shop No 4 New Regent Street, Christchurch.
Rubble is proud to be exhibiting and retailing artist editions from exciting Christchurch artists Tjalling de Vries, Audrey Baldwin, Julia Croucher, Sophie Scott, Courtney Spargo and Scott Jackson. These contemporary works on paper represent bold new visions.
Rubble Director Josh Foley says, “Rubble serves as a framework to begin testing ideas and processes towards developing a strong business model for the arts. Built on a strong vision for the future, Rubble creates these beautiful works as a beginning point with the aim of growth to help create and ensure a successful creative sector for artists and the public alike.”
Rubble’s first collection of exclusive artist editions will be released for sale online at www.rubbleinc.com, 8 pm on Friday, 4th July 2014 for $160 each.
In developing his model Josh sought assistance from the Enrich – Canterbury Arts & Business partnership programme. Architect and businessman Gerald Carter helped Josh to refine his business plan. Grant and Mandy Nelson of G&A Creative Agency have provided space for the exhibition at their New Regent Street premises.
Enrich Director Gillian Wess says “Practical gifting partnerships between enlightened business people and a young entrepreneurial artist have enabled this bold new venture to develop into a creative commercial reality”.
