Simply Capoeira Auckland is pleased to announce their 2018 International Capoeira Encounter: Gingando em Aotearoa, to be held on March 23 - March 25 2018.

The encounter brings special guests Instructor Tigre and Graduada Aranha from Simplesmente Capoeira in Macanet de la Selva, Spain and Profesor Perere from Ungu Capoeira, Brisbane.

Children, teens and adults are all welcome to join for special workshops with our international capoeiristas, PLUS rodas with live music (capoeira performance/combat circles) and a batizado (grading ceremony) for Simply Capoeira's Auckland students.

The event will open on Friday 23 March with an all ages capoeira masterclass and opening roda. On Saturday students will enjoy an action-packed day with workshops in the morning, followed by a roda and grading ceremony in the afternoon. And to close the event, Simply Capoeira will host an open roda on Sunday 25 March at 11am - a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in capoeira to see the unique Brazilian martial art up close.

Simply Capoeira Auckland invites all capoeira enthusiasts to join us for the event.

International guests:

Instructor Tigre, Simplesmente Capoeira

Coming to us all the way from Maçanet de la Selva, near Barcelona in Spain, Instructor Tigre has been training and teaching capoeira for over 18 years. He will be teaching an all ages masterclass on Friday 23 March and an adults workshop on Saturday 24 March. This is his first time in New Zealand.

Profesor Pererê, Ungu Capoeira

Originally from Brazil, the home of capoeira, Profesor Pererê has trained in capoeira for over 25 years. In that time he has gained a wealth of knowledge and skill in the art of capoeira. He is the founder of Ungu Capoeira School, a group he formed while living and teaching capoeira in New Zealand. Pererê now lives and teaches in Brisbane Australia, while his kiwi students continue teaching and learning in New Zealand. With years of teaching experience under his belt, he'll be delivering a challenging adults workshop on Saturday 24 March.

Graduada Aranha, Simplesmente Capoeira

Hailing from Maçanet de la Selva, near Barcelona in Spain, Graduada Aranha has been practising capoeira for over 15 years.
