Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) Bachelor in Digital Media student Brandon Dunn has edged off international digital media specialists at the Autodesk CG Student Awards to claim the Oceania Next-Gen Gaming Boot Camp Award. Dunn who submitted a show reel portfolio earlier this year to enter the competition has now come away with a 6 month paid internship at Gameloft in Auckland.
Dunn says “being able to draw for a living has always been my dream. To be able to get an opportunity like this to put my foot in the door is a huge step towards that dream”. Dunn elaborates that his dream career would be a concept artist and freelance Illustrator which is designing and creating animation and characters for console, computer and smart phone games.
Dunn credits the great tutoring he received at SIT to his recent success, in particularly Animation Tutor Rachel Mann.
