Circus theatre production company, The Dust Palace, launched their equity crowdfunding campaign on PledgeMe earlier this week. Today, they hit their minimum goal of $75,000 and are charging towards their maximum target of $140,000.

“We began our journey of telling stories using circus art ten years ago” says founder Eve Gordon. “Over that time, we’ve cultivated a fantastic community of performers, students, teachers and those that share our passion for creating unique experiences. That community has really blossomed and we’ve now outgrown our current space.”

The company have signed a lease on a new larger performance and training facility in Penrose. They are raising capital to fit out their new space.

“It’s simple. A larger venue helps us become sustainable. This is our chance to create a legacy space for circus in Auckland.”

Gordon has been overwhelmed by the experience of offering their crowd the opportunity to co-own the company. “We’ve had such a positive response from our crowd. It’s cool.”

“Eve and her team do things differently and constantly encourage people to take a different perspective. It’s been great seeing their crowdfunding efforts open a different perspective for their supporters - collective ownership” says Barry Grehan, PledgeMe’s Chief Lending Officer.

The Dust Palace’s equity crowdfunding campaign is open until Wednesday, 3rd October or when they reach their maximum target. You can check it out at pldg.me/dust.
