New Zealand artist coming to London to create unique artwork
Bruce Mahalski to paint mural at Trinity Buoy Wharf
New Zealand artist Bruce Mahalski is coming to London especially to create a mural and exhibit a selection of his work at Trinity Buoy Wharf. The exhibition will open at The Boiler House on Thursday 5th April at 6.00pm. The mural will be painted on a wall at Orchard Place during the first week of April.
It will include references to a whaling station that was built on the site in 1784, the electrical research conducted there by scientist Michael Faraday in the 19th century, and current environmental issues.
Mahalski has painted many public murals in New Zealand, as well as producing sculptures, poster artwork, screen printing and photography across a variety of media.
He has also created and provided illustrations, children's books and educational activities for many different organisations including government departments, museums and conservation groups.
Bruce is the second artist to be invited to participate in the new arts programme that is funded by the Trinity Buoy Wharf Trust in an initiative that promotes environmental consciousness through art.
