UCOL Fashion graduate Stefanie McKnight claimed top prize in the Flight of Fantasy category at the Cult Couture Fashion Show and Awards in Auckland earlier this month.

Stefanie’s visually striking entry named The Whole Hole wowed the judges in the hotly contested annual fashion event.

The Cult Couture Fashion Show is described as a spectacular evening of awe-inspiring avant-garde fashion that encourages designers to push boundaries and create truly unique one off garments.
It is the premier event of the Southside Arts Festival that features more than 40 events with a diverse mix of fashion, dance, music and theatre.

Stefanie graduated from Whanganui UCOL with a Graduate Diploma in Fashion in 2011.

Three second year Bachelor of Fashion students were selected to enter the fashion show and awards by the Cult Couture judges. Chloe Sanson (The Trophy Wife) and Josiene Van Maarseveen (City Dryad) had entries in the On the Streets category. Quintin Riley’s entry Elfin Maiden was in the Flight of Fantasy category.

Not to be left out, Fashion tutors Cassandra Knight and Junette Ward had a collaborative design Extinct-Still Life 3 in the Formally Yours category.
