Underneath: The Vice-Chancellor’s Poetry Prize Anthology

The University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor’s Poetry Prize Anthology, Underneath, has been launched by the International Poetry Studies Institute at the University of Canberra.

The anthology contains the poems selected for The University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor’s Poetry Prize by the judges: Subhash Jaireth, Judy Johnson and Alvin Pang. The prize is one of the world’s richest poetry prizes with a total prize-pool of $25,000 AUD, and this year attracted 1,206 poems from 724 poets worldwide.

The winning poem Iconic Photo: Lee Miller in Munich, April, 1945, by American poet Elisabeth Murawski, was selected by the head judge Elizabeth Smither. The runner up was Australian poet Lisa Brockwell for her poem: Waiting on Imran Khan. The shortlisted poets were Mara Adamitz Scrupe, Jonathan Lenn, Anthony Lawrence, and Jane Adair.
