It seems now some American media and arts organisations are citing the 1978 work of Barry Thomas as 'starting guerrilla gardening'. If so is this an instance of art in the real world begining to acheive one of the holy grails of art... Apollinaire's prophesy for Duchamp that he would unite art and the people? Or is this all just more media hype?
