Urban Dream Brokerage rescue Broken River

BATS Theatre’s STAB productions are synonymous with cutting edge theatre experiences. Broken River, programmed for 23 November – 7 December is no different.

But seeking a large, central space in which to build and house their set, producers Trick of the Light were losing hope they’d ever find a space in a city dotted with yellow-stickered buildings.

“Our set is ambitious – an enormous, working irrigator sculpture – and most potential spaces in the city are undergoing earthquake strengthening. With rehearsals due to start and marketing deadlines looming things were starting to look bleak.”

Enter saviors of the day Urban Dream Brokerage, who work with property managers, owners, and creative industries to foster urban revitalization in Wellington by bringing empty properties to life - demonstrating the site’s potential and supporting creative endeavors.

In the nick of time a perfect venue was negotiated, Broken River had the keys to 125 Victoria Street - right around the corner from BATS Out of Site (Cnr Cuba & Dixon Sts). Wonderful!

“We are really pleased to have brokered this tenancy with the kind support of the Oyster Group. This is our biggest brokerage to date and it will be exciting to see how Trick of the Light transform the space.”

Trick of the Light sincerely thank Urban Dream Brokerage and can’t wait to get to work on Broken River.
