Wet Plate Portrait Sessions

8 Oct 2022 to 9 Oct 2022
9:30am-4pm Saturday 8 October and Sunday 9 October
Book a wet plate portrait session at the Pah Homestead for a stunning and unique photo.
Event type:
Art, Festival, Public Program
Pah Homestead
72 Hillsborough Road, Hillsborough, Auckland, 1042

The wet plate collodion process is a 19th-century method of development that predates film photography.  Each image is hand-crafted,  producing an original direct-positive image on a sheet of aluminium plate. Participating in a tintype session and seeing the alchemic process as images appear on the plate is captivating; an experience that few people now have the opportunity to witness. At the end of the session, you will leave with a unique and original hand-made portrait and a complimentary digital file of your image.  Limited to two persons per plate.

Price $150 - Bookings essential
