Celebrate Kōanga with a walking storytelling tour through Henderson park for the whole whānau!

Come to Corban Estate Arts Centre and enjoy this fun and cheeky bi-lingual and rūmaki reo story from Kawerau-ā-maki of Panuku and other kaupapa Māori stories for the whole whānau.

This is a great way to connect with your local area as a whānau on this gentle hikoi, suitable for all from tamariki to kaumātua.

Presented with Healthy Families Waitakere, headphones are provided for the tour with both bilingual and rūmaki reo versions loaded.

How does it work?

  • Meet on the verandah outside The Coffee Studio cafe at Corban Estate Arts Centre.
  • We will then start a guided storytelling walk through Henderson Park while listening to a story with Nan and her moko as he learns about the whenua.
  • Choose your reo! Easily switch between te reo Māori and English.
  • Follow the guided walk or take it at your own pace.

This work is presented by Te Pou Theatre as part of Kōanga Festival 2022, celebrating Māori storytelling for the stage. See the Te Pou Theatre website for full festival programme.
