Why do we need to learn foundational drawing skills?
Learning to sketch is the process of drawing basic skills training. It needs to
go from shallow to deep, from simple to complex, step by step, and must
not be eager to achieve success. The external forms of the objects we see
in the world are ever-changing, but in summary, they can be summarized
into the most basic geometric forms: cubes, cylinders, cones, spheres, etc.,
Which is the morphological summary of the ever-changing objects.
The objects we see every day have more complex shapes, and beginners
often don’t know where to start, but we can summarize them with
different geometric shapes, so that complex objects can be seen using
this perspective. For example: apple, we can be seen as a sphere, pear, we
can be seen as a cone. Including more complex portraits, we can use
geometric shapes to summarize.
So studying the sketching of plaster geometry can help us grasp the
modeling laws of realistic painting as soon as possible, so that we can
freely express everything we want to express. Studying sketches should
follow the principle of gradual progress, step by step. The plaster
geometry summarizes various forms in nature. Starting from the study of
plaster geometry and still life is the beginning of sketching. Studying the
geometry, it is easy to understand the shape structure of the object and
the perspective principle in space, and it is easy to understand the light
and dark tone and the three-dimensional sense of the object.
