The Aotearoa Festival of Black Arts (AFoBA) is a national celebration of Black artistry in Aotearoa, bringing together artists, thinkers, and communities across the motu for a month-long programme of theatre, music, dance, visual art, literature, and community events.
AFoBA is more than a festival; it’s a gathering of hearts and minds, a declaration that we belong here — and that our creativity is essential to the cultural life of this country. It’s a space to connect, to experiment, to share your work, and to experience the power of collective Black joy.
