Art Day for Gender Equality is back for 2026 with an amazing line-up of workshops, music, performance poetry and a lively panel discussion.

Taking place in Monte Cecilia Park, at the site of 1001 Spheres — a public sculpture by Chiara Corbelletto — the 2026 programme unfolds from 9AM–6PM and includes workshops, performances, a poetry open mic, and culminating in a lively Art + Gender panel discussion at The Arts House Trust, Pah Homestead.
The day starts with PŪNGAO, a mindful movement and breath workshop by renowned choreographer Tiaki Kerei. Followed by creative writing with award-winning screenwriter and writing coach, Kathryn Burnett.
Pumping up the energy and the volume will be DJ and powerhouse vocalist Sandy Mill. Performance poet Carrie Rudzinsky is returning to host the Poetry Open Mic featuring special guests and emerging new poets, plus more to be announced.
