As the principal sponsor of the Whanganui Arts Review, Pattillo also champions the Pattillo Project, a gallery-led initiative that offers the open award winner the opportunity to develop a solo show the following year. Since 2019, this project has become a highlight of our programme, allowing each recipient to create a focused exhibition with the support of the gallery’s curatorial team. Chris Connolly was the 2022 open award and Pattillo Project winner, and now that the gallery is well beyond its successful opening season, it’s time for Connolly’s project What we take with us to take place.
