Grey Lynn is getting into the Christmas groove — and you’re invited to join the fun!
This December, ℂ𝕙𝕣𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕤 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕍𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕒𝕘𝕖 brings a festive, music-filled morning to life, celebrating everything we love about our vibrant neighbourhood.
From West Lynn to Surrey Crescent, local shops will spill out onto the street with Christmas bundles, festive offers, and one-of-a-kind finds. Expect a relaxed day of browsing and buying: boutiques showcasing curated gifts and clothing, beauty and hair studios offering special Christmas packages, and cafés serving seasonal treats and summer cocktails. Pop-up stalls will feature handmade jewellery, candles, pre-loved fashion, and creative stocking fillers — the perfect excuse to tick off your gift list while supporting local.
The streets will be buzzing with 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁. The legendary 𝗙𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗰𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 (Strawpeople) returns with a community Christmas singalong that’s fast becoming a local favourite. 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗲 — the horn-parping, groove-loving trio of Nick Atkinson (Supergroove, Hopetoun Brown), Finn Scholes (Carnivorous Plant Society), and Alistair Deverick (Carnivorous Plant Society) — will take over with a joyful, multi-dimensional sonic journey filled with brass, funk, and irresistible good vibes. And award-winning comedian 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗻, aka DJ Uncle Barnie, will be spinning tropical rarities.
Kids can add a little sparkle with 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, while the beloved 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 will be in full swing — an extra-Christmassy edition packed with vintage treasures, pre-loved fashion, jewellery, flowers, crafts, delicious bites, and festive cocktails.
More info to come on performance timings soon — but for now, pop the date in your calendar and come along to shop local, eat, drink, dance, and embrace the Christmas spirit in Grey Lynn.
