CREATIVE WELLBEING STUDIO

WHAT: A weekly 2 hour workshop for adults who are keen to connect with others through the healing power of the arts with a focus on wellbeing.

The workshops will begin with an opening, a main creative prompt, reflection, closing, followed by tea and biscuits to close. All arts materials will be provided and no previous art experience is required.

WHEN:

Choose between Mondays 2–4 pm (3 Nov–1 Dec) or Thursdays 10:30 am–12:30 pm (6 Nov–4 Dec)

WHERE: Auckland city (location shared once your place in group is confirmed)

WHO: This studio is aimed at adults who are interested in exploring their wellbeing, creativity and connecting within a group setting.

You don’t need to consider yourself a “good artist” in any form - this space is a non-judgemental environment designed to value ‘process over product’ as well as an opportunity to explore a range of modalities (including drama, movement, collage, visual artmaking, mindfulness).

COST: Minimal cost thanks to the support of Auckland City Councils Creative Communities fund and the Ockham Collective.

*Please note registering interest for this event is essential and attendance is subject to an initial intake to ensure this group is the right fit for you.

FACILITATOR: Facilitated by Virginia Frankovich, MA CAT, PGDipAT, BAPsych. Drama, AThR.

Hi there, my name is Virginia Frankovich and I am a creative arts therapist, multidisciplinary artist, and community facilitator based in Auckland. I hold professional registration with the Australia, New Zealand and Asia Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA).

I began my academic journey with undergraduate studies in Psychology and Drama at the University of Auckland, before deepening my passion for theatre by training at the John Bolton Theatre School and L’École Philippe Gaulier. Upon returning to Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, I established myself as a theatremaker, directing independent shows that toured internationally as well as working with professional theatre companies such as Silo Theatre and Auckland Theatre Company. I later completed my Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Creative Arts Therapy (Clinical), merging my passion for performative expression with my curiosity in psychology. In 2024, I was the recipient of The Kate Edger Master of Education Award, the ANZACATA Award for Academic Achievement and the Whitecliffe College Award for Outstanding Achievement.
