Harakeke (NZ Flax) Weaving Workshop - Traditional Māori Kete with a Plait in its Base (Presented by NZTE)

The Kete Whiri is a traditional pipi kete or kumara harvesting basket. From plant to product: the flax is prepared with the flax fibre exposed at the end, this is referred to as muka.
