Nathan and Destine Hull are a husband and wife artistic force. They live and work in Taranaki, repurposing scrap metal to create their sculptural pieces.
Nathan primarily works with copper and stainless steel to create work reflecting the beauty of our native flora and fauna. In this exhibition he combines this with more fantastical works bringing the fae and mythological creatures into the space. Nathan plays with scale and his work often sees a blurring between industrial and the organic.
Destine's work repurposes old engine parts, tools and household objects. She is inspired by the natural world - colours, textures and the changing seasons. Destine's approach to working with found materials results in pieces that appear more ‘unearthed’ than created.
Experience the work of this creative duo in our Rock Garden until the end of October.
