Following in the footsteps of Robyn Kahukiwa, Slowing the Sun is a collection of essays that gives voice, shape and expression to atua waahine, making visible the maatauranga contained within puuraakau. Join author Nadine Hura and art critic Dr Cassandra Barnett as they follow the atua trail from Robyn Kahukiwa’s paintings to Nadine Hura’s book, reclaiming and amplifying the matriarchal knowledge systems essential to addressing the climate crisis.

This public talk will be interactive, engaging the audience in a dialogue about what it means to turn the language of hope into grounded action
