Join Tāmaki Makaurau based artist, Zoë Nash, for this two-day workshop that focuses entirely on working with indian and coloured inks.
You'll be taught a wide range of inky applications and techniques including working with resists and diluents, additions, removals, the effects of different surfaces, wet into wet, and working with pen and ink.
We'll also explore how to make a range of more innovative and experimental marks with ink using some unexpected drawing tools.
Along the way, students will be introduced to a range of contemporary artists who use this versatile and fluid media in a variety of inspiring and exciting ways.
Day 1 gives students the opportunity to work on a series of group exercises helping develop technical skill and confidence. We then work towards the development and completion of a more self-directed project on Day 2. Students will receive ongoing feedback as they make their work, and will come away with extra momentum and enthusiasm to continue their creative practice beyond the classroom.
This course is suitable for any level of artistic experience.
