Tāmaki Makaurau based artist, Zoë Nash, presents More Flora – an opportunity to creatively explore a range of diverse mark-making, drawing, and painting techniques that use nature as inspiration.
Beginning with some loose observational studies of real-life specimens, the class will be gently encouraged to investigate multiple ways to illustrate how flora can be engaging and personally meaningful in their arts practice.
More Flora takes an intuitive, mixed media, and multi layered approach to creating imagery that rather alludes to plant and flower motifs instead of being realistic or technically accurate. The class encourages a fluid, experimental and open-ended approach. Enjoy the journey and let your curiousity guide you!
Starting with group activities, we’ll gradually work towards slower and more self-directed projects that provide plenty of opportunity to develop beyond the classroom.
More Flora is suitable for any level of experience.
Feel free to bring along your own plant and flower specimens if desired, and please check the Materials List online for everything you need in advance.
