The Painter + The Ceramic Artist

Paul Screach explores through his paintings the notion that beauty is a byproduct of chaos, his work reaches for something sacred – intelligence behind intention, spirit behind matter, design behind complexity. His painting process, manipulation or lack there of -of the paint and ink serves to further this line of enquiry in his work.

Sav Mattyasovszky has presented a body of ceramic work concerned with the memory and emotion attached to jewellery. By messing with the scale and material of recognizable forms Sav enlarges/diminishes the emotional weight associated with the object. An attempt to hold on to transient feelings, to capture them and give them permanence and weight.
