The world’s leading gin company, Four Pillars Gin has today announced that they will be partnering with three Aotearoa-born venues to deliver ‘Pillars & Links’ – a classic sausage sizzle inspired activation, with all proceeds going towards the respective charity for each event.
This will take shape throughout Dunedin, Auckland and Wellington on Sunday October 19th and 26th. Venues taking part are Ōtepoti’s Woof!, Tāmaki Makaurau’s Nami Record Bar and Pōneke’s Ascot Bar. The all-kiwi feel is driven home with the addition of New Zealand butchers Links Quality Meats (Dunedin), the Grey Lynn Butcher (Auckland) and Cameron Harrison (Wellington) providing sausages for the activations.
The heart of Aotearoa lies within community, culture, and damn good food. And you can’t think of a better way to welcome in the pending summer season than with a charity sanger. Brought together by the award-winning Four Pillars Gin, who combine intense creativity with a huge passion for hospitality and gin-fuelled fun, and paired with a classic kiwi sausage sizzle, these events are ones to get amongst.
Spirits ambassador at Lion NZ, Gwilym Breese, says: “There is only thing Kiwi and Aussie Pocket Change philanthropists can agree on. Spending the contents of the cupholder on the day’s sausage sizzle and supporting something worthy. From Rugby Clubs to the Red Cross these pillars of our cultural calendar are fantastic ways to bring a community together for good. We figured it takes four, A community focused bar, only the finest sangers, their choice of charity and some liquid refreshments. These Four Pillars; Community, Craft, Cause, and some tasty Gin, got our tastebuds going. We’re stoked to be working with people around NZ to bring about some change and make some killer tube meats.”
The three venues participating have each selected a charity that aligns with them, with a specific focus on community, to donate all proceeds raised.
Josh Thomas and the team at Woof! are strong advocates for the LGBTQI+ community in NZ and providing a safe space for everyone in Dunedin. Their choice of RainbowYOUTH shows a commitment to supporting a still marginalised section of New Zealand which doesn’t always work inside the usual channels.
Teaming up with award-winning craft butchers Links Quality Meats who are a stalwart of the local hospitality scene, they’re sure to craft some of the best Links in NZ - delivering prune thyme and lemon infused sausages and complete with Four Pillars Famous Bloody Shiraz Gin.
The Owners and Team behind Nami Record Bar are community-focused for more than just record lovers, offering a platform for new and upcoming DJs as well as community hub in Ponsonby for young creatives. Adamant at trying to be a force for good, they are stoked to partner with the Kiwi Trust for Palestinian Children Relief, (KiwiPAL). The non-profit trust raises funds and collects financial donations from individuals and charitable organizations in New Zealand to implement highly-needed social and educational projects in Gaza Strip’s marginalized areas and educate interested Kiwis about the Palestinian just cause.
Tying up the Auckland offering with the Grey Lynn Butcher, another local success story who are a huge part of the Auckland food scene - they’ll be whipping up their take on Gin infused German Brat for the bbq!
