Details and Criteria

Combining funds from Creative New Zealand along with long-standing support from Auckland Council -Q Season Support offers packages valued between $10,000–$17,000 against venue-related costs for artists presenting work at Q. Minimum season - 3 days, 3 performances in Rangatira or 5 days, 5 performances in Loft. Support is scalable depending on season length. See financial details below.

Q Season Support covers venue hire, crew (limited inclusions, see example models for details), and includes modest marketing support for selected works. The participating companies are responsible for fully presenting and marketing their own work in this programme. Subject to availability, Q may be able to offer further support with rehearsal space. We want to continue to help artists access our venues by partnering in a risk share venture to support longer runs at Q Theatre.

Q is accepting submissions from professional producers and companies with work, ready to present at Q between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027. This opportunity is best suited to artists and companies with a proven track record and the ability to attract an audience.

Submission Timeline

  • Monday 1 December 2025 - opens 10am
  • Friday 30th January 2026 -closes 5pm
  • Friday 27 February - notification on status of application

We strongly encourage early submission.

Assessment Criteria

  • Content and strength of application along with supporting documents
  • Capability and experience within producing and production teams
  • Previous track record of the producer / artists and work in submission
  • Marketing and sales strategy, budget, and timeline
  • Scale of work in submission and number of creatives/artists involved. (for example, a reduction of support may be considered for smaller creative teams, and consideration will be given to the number of performers on stage).
