WAIPRINT 2025
The annual WAIPRINT exhibition presents recent work by Waikato Society of Arts members and includes work by artists in all stages of their exploration of print, from veteran practitioners to newbies in their first or second term of classes.
The prints exhibited at WAIPRINT are original and autographic works: this means they are made by hand by the artists. ‘Printmaking’ is a broad term encompassing many techniques for mark-making. These include woodcut, wood engraving, linocut, collagraph, etching, aquatint, drypoint, lithography and monoprint. Used individually or in combination, these varied techniques provide printmakers a full set of tools for interpreting and expressing their vision and ideas. Many of these techniques are included in this exhibition.
This year’s WAIPRINT Guest Artist is Lorraine Sabini. Working from her Aotea home studio, Lorraine indulges her passion for colour and process. Her exhibition ‘Composition de Coller’ explores form and texture, expressed through collage and sometimes topped up with fire.
Join us for the opening afternoon on July 12th at 1pm, at Artspost Gallery.
This exhibition runs from July 8 to August 11.
