Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre aims to be the most vibrant and significant arts, culture and events facility in New Zealand. With a broad range of venues, from a grand theatre to modern function spaces and a heritage ballroom, there truly is something for everyone at this spectacular facility in the heart of Hastings city.

Our focus on being a fourth generation venue means we provide diverse programmes which are accessible to a wide range of audiences. Our in-house technical and event management teams will expertly combine bespoke creative solutions, using modern technology to best complement Toitoi’s beautiful heritage spaces. We are both a home and a host for our local and wider Aotearoa community, while also being thought leaders and enablers. We strive to create new knowledge in our community which enhances cultural awareness, expression and understanding.

Toitoi is also a learning environment through which we facilitate employment pathways for our Hawke’s Bay community. We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and weave te ao Māori throughout our business.

Toitoi was named the Event Venues Association of New Zealand Small Venue of the Year and the won Local Government New Zealand Excellence Award for Community Wellbeing in 2021.
