We’re Hiring: Sales Superstar – Gallery Sales Associate

Black Door Gallery, a contemporary gallery in Parnell showcasing New Zealand Art and Design, is looking for a dynamic, sales-driven gallery assistant to join our team.

Do you love connecting with people and closing sales? Do you thrive on delivering exceptional customer experiences? If so, we want you—art knowledge is a bonus, but strong sales skills come first.

What You’ll Do:

• Greet and engage visitors, guiding them through our collection of paintings, sculpture, ceramics, and glass.
• Sell art with confidence and enthusiasm.
• Handle and care for artworks.
• Manage team and solo gallery shifts.
• Provide exceptional customer service that turns browsers into buyers.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in retail, sales, or gallery work—you know how to close a sale.
• Confident, friendly, and persuasive in customer interactions.
• Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Available 1-2 weekdays and Sunday (other days negotiable).
• NZ resident or holder of a valid NZ work visa.
• Arts experience or qualifications are welcome, but not essential.
