Join Wellington City Council’s Creative Capital team, where arts, culture, and events converge to celebrate the vibrant, diverse spirit of Pōneke. We’re looking for an Assistant Creative Producer - Events to join us in crafting experiences that leave lasting impacts and contribute into the heart of our city’s celebrations.

Why this role matters:

You’ll assist with concept development, deliver  production logistics, artist and stakeholder liaison, and marketing coordination. It’s a hands-on, heart-filled role for someone who wants to be part of something meaningful.

You’ll support the delivery of events that reflect the voices and values of our communities, all within the vision of our Aho Tini strategy a blueprint for a bold, inclusive cultural future.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in planning and delivering events that celebrate Wellington’s unique identity
  • Support creative development, production logistics, budgeting, and communications
  • Collaborate with artists, producers, and community groups
  • Help build strong relationships with mana whenua and Māori creatives
  • Ensure events run smoothly and are delivered on time and within scope
  • Contribute to marketing, comms, and storytelling across channels
  • Support strategic planning and policy development where needed

What you’ll bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. arts, design, cultural management, etc.)
  • 2-3 years of experience in arts, events, or cultural production
  • Familiarity with Wellington’s creative and cultural landscape
  • A strong sense of cultural awareness and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit
